LA Fires Relief
The fires in the Los Angeles area have devastated and displaced thousands of families. It has killed at least 24 people and swept through 40,000 acres in the greater Los Angeles area – an area larger than San Francisco – destroying entire communities and more than 12,300 structures. We are partnering with the Dream Center in LA to help resource and bring relief to that community. Here are some ways you can participate:
Donate
We will be sending needed resources to the Dream Center. You can donate the following items on Sunday, January 19, at your local campus or at the North San Jose campus (1180 Murphy Ave.) which will be receiving donations until 6:30pm.
Most Urgent Need (Canned goods / non-perishable food)
- Canned goods: Canned fruits, vegetables, fish, and meats
- Dried foods: Dried beans, fruits, and vegetables
- Nut butters: e.g., Peanut butter
- Grains: Rice, pasta, flour, crackers, pretzels, and ready-to-eat cereal
- Other foods: Jerky
Other Needs
- Individually wrapped snacks
- Paper towels
- Toilet paper
- Large, thick, durable trash bags
Pray
Pray for:
- The weather to cooperate, the fires to cease and be contained.
- The first responders risking their lives in response to this disaster.
- The families who have lost everything and those still fighting for what’s left.
- The church to become conduits of God’s love, hope and help in this tragic season.
- City leaders to have wisdom and endurance as they manage emergency responses.
