SEPTEMBER 23
Hey friend,
I hope you’re experiencing answers to some of your prayers and growing in your awareness of The Lord’s work in you and through you. God stands wanting to help us and use us in significant ways.
Of course, not all of our prayers are answered the way we want them to be answered. And that’s a good thing, because He is God, and we are not!
Today, we are going to look again at one of Paul’s prayers for the church in 2 Thessalonians.
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12:
“So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.”
There is a specific grace for doing good. What Paul is saying is that God wants to help you do good things in our accordance with His strength and prompting. I love how Paul is constantly thinking about others.
Today I would like to shift our focus to pray for someone else. I would like for you to choose a good friend, a family member, someone from your Echo group, or another person you love deeply. Today, let’s specifically pray Paul’s prayer over someone in our life.
You might pray something like this…
“Father, thank you for your love for __________. I pray today that you would bless them. Help them live a life worthy of the call you’ve placed on them. Give them supernatural power to accomplish your work. Prompt them in unique ways to do good. Help them listen, and make it known to them that they are doing this with your grace.
Please help Echo Church be people who are known for doing good. In Jesus’ name, Amen!!”
Now, I want to encourage you to let that person know you prayed for them today! Maybe even wait until the end of the day and see if God answered your prayers.
