SEPTEMBER 25

Good day!

I am grateful that you are investing the time in prayer. It really means a lot to me that you would pray for our region, our church, my family, and the overall well being of those in your life. I know that God appreciates it, too.

Over the last few months, I’ve had several concerns for people in our church. One of my primary concerns relates to the way so many followers of Jesus see the Scriptures.

The Bible is God’s written word to us and has great power in our lives. When I read the Bible, I sense the Holy Spirit speaking the Father’s truth into my life. When I obey the Bible, I experience God’s favor.

It is not an ordinary book, it’s an exclusive book, inspired by the Living God.

Today, I want to pray for better understanding in our church about the Bible.

1 Timothy 3:16-17 says:

“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

Paul helps young Timothy understand the power and usefulness of the Scriptures. The Bible is able to correct us, redirect our steps, teach us, prepare us, and equip us.

I hope and pray that you would have eyes to see how powerful God’s Word is for your life.

Would you take a moment to join with me to pray for hunger in our people for God’s word?

I want us to pray that God would help us hear His voice through His Word! I want to ask God to give us a greater sense of reverence to listen and obey.

You might pray something like this…

“God, thank you for your Word. I’m so grateful for the Scriptures today.

I pray that as I read the Bible today that you would give me a hunger to know you and hear your voice. I pray that you would increase hunger for your word in our Echo family. Help us long to know you more. Please correct us and show areas where our thinking is off and help us return to you.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Hey, I want to encourage you to read the Bible today in light of these verses.

Ask the Holy Spirit to speak and open your eyes so you can follow the Lord more closely.

With love,

Pastor Andy
